The Vampire's Story
Chapter:1
The heavenly flower
The heavenly white-golden glowing flower accidently fell into earth. It rested at the glorious height of Himalayas for decades. The melting of ice and formation shifted it down to the grasslands. Due to the peace, love and positivity in heaven, the glowing flower was white. But earth, was filled with war, hatred and sufferings. Although the heavenly flower was at the sacred place, in the lap of Himalayas, it couldn't resist negativity. It started absorbing all types of dark negative energies and slowly started turning into rusty red flower. Decades past by, but earth was never in peace. The flower had turned into dark red by the time.
It was the month of July. Villagers had finished picking yarsagumba from mountains. They used to use it as herbs and also a source of their income. Collected yarsagumbas were transported by bhariyas to the palace in Kathmandu. However, Namche couldn't go this time. He waked up from bed and came in kitchen. His wife Nagma was cooking dinner. "Is your fever down?" she looked at him, little surprised. Then she passed him pirka to sit down. "How long has it been?" he looked at her. She was blowing dhungro. She rubbed her teary eyes. Smoke was filling around. She kept the lid on kasaudi and sat near him. They could hear the bubbling sound of rice. "It's been around one month, " she said. "Fever seems to be down now."she added touching his forehead." We will have to rely on millet and potatoes this year, "namche looked sad." Dhido doesn't seem bad though. "she patted him on his back. Namche's health condition was bad. He was suffering from an unknown disease. Unknown, because a famous vaidhya also couldn't tell what he was suffering from. Their son cherring came running into the kitchen. His five years old round face was in fire. He sat near his mother, still playing with same stick that he used to draw circles in snow. Although it was summer, it used to have snowfall at night. They had their dinner.
The next morning, Namche opened the door. Rays of sun were striking into his eyes. Sun was waking up from between the Himalayas melting white snow. He came out to the yard, stretched his both hands in air and yawned. Nagma came out of kitchen. "Is your fever down?" she asked, touching his forehead with back of her fingers. "It's same as yesterday, mild heat," she added taking a long breath. Cheering was still asleep, opening half his mouth, sleeping peacefully. Nagma brought two cups of tea.
Namche was in shed when Nagma asked loudly from their house,"Do you really need to go?Tansen Ba said that he would take our sheeps otherwise. I forgot to tell you before" she added. "No, I want to go, tell Tansen Ba not to worry." Namche told loudly while he opened a gate and flock of sheeps came out. He took a small stick in his hand. "Ha" he commanded and sheeps marched on his way. They climbed up to the mountain. "There is lusty grasses there on that hill, why didn't anyone notice?" he said to himself, happy though. There were huge rocks in a way. Small stones were slippery. After climbing up for an hour, they finally were at the hill. It wasn't just a hill, it was grassland everywhere. He looked around. Sheeps had already started their meal. Nagma had given him a pouch full of roasted corns. He started eating them, sitting in a grass. Sun was about to be at a zenith and he was sweating. Little later, he stood up, looked around, if there was any threat. He came at the edge and looking down he saw some red berrie bushes. He went down carefully as it was steap.A little mistake could take his life by falling in sharp rocks below. He placed his legs slowly on rocks examining if they were stable. He finally reached the bushes. Berries smelled ripe and fresh but he had never seen those around. He picked some and ate. Berries were a little sour and sweet but it also had a heavenly essence. The sensation in your mouth and the smell was everything. He went down picking some more, then, he realized that bushes were much longer. He climbed down, a little more down and he saw:large, beautiful red glowing flower with golden boarder. Bushes were actually grown from the center of flower. He had never seen such a beautiful flower, neither of a village might have seen. He was mesmerized.
Suddenly, his stomach started aching, "Wild berries", he felt his stomach. He climbed up, slowly and cautiously. He felt like his intestines were fighting together. As soon as he climbed up, he vomited, blood. Then his head started aching. He pressed his head with both hands and and after a while he fainted.
After an hour, Namche waked up. He looked around. He felt much better then before, more energetic and healthier. "Why do devils and fairies have to fight? And why should I be the one to decide who wins? What is this dream? Oh lord" he murmured to the wind. After bringing all sheeps in a flock, he led them back home.
